GIVE IT OR KEEP IT

“HOW MUCH DO YOU GIVE TO GOD”

INTRODUCTION OUTLINE:

1. Do you hold back?

2. Do you keep some or give it all?

3. Does surrendering it all mean you lost the battle?

1. Do you hold back?

I am referring to holding back issues or concerns that only God can help you with. It seems like this is a part of our daily life, we want to give our situations to God, but we want to hold back the things that we think we can handle. How many times have we held things back and we find ourselves still pressed down because it was more than we can handle. Why do we keep it?

2. Do you keep some or give it all?

We already know the answer but will never admit it. If I said keep some then the irony of that would be I am a grown person I don’t have to give everything to God. Really is that the way we think, probably so and more people think like this than you can imagine. To give all our problems to God makes it sound like we can’t handle our own business, but the truth of the matter is that God tells us to cast our cares upon him because he cared for us first. (1 Pet 5:7 – ‘Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you’). Maybe giving all our cares to God makes us seem weak, is that what you think?

3. Does surrendering it all mean you lost the battle?

No, giving it all to God puts you in a place of winning because now you didn’t let the problem or situation overtake you. You have taken back control because of what could have destroyed you now lies in the hand of the creator. Taking back control mean submitting to God and letting him take the lead.

In conclusion you give it all and become a winner, you keep it and become a nervous wreck.
